About ready2vote
ready2vote helps Texas voters complete official election forms online and authorize mailing to the right county office. You fill out your information here, we generate the official application for you to review, and when you're ready, you authorize Lob—our mailing partner—to print and mail it to your county's voter registrar on your behalf, so you don't need a printer or a stamp.
We don't register you or approve your ballot. Your county does that when they receive and process your application. ready2vote is built by B-59, a company that builds tools and services meant to serve the public—we are not your county, we are not the government, and we only make it easier to get your completed application to the office that can add you to the voter rolls.
What makes this different
In Texas, there is no single “click to register” option run by the state. To get on the voter rolls, you have to get a signed voter registration application to your county. Usually that means printing a form, filling it out, and mailing it yourself—or finding someone who can hand-deliver it for you.
ready2vote is the first online tool built to do one thing: let you complete your voting registration application on the web and authorize mailing to your county. You enter your details and sign electronically; we turn that into the official form. When you authorize mailing, Lob prints and sends it to the right office on your behalf. You get a copy for your records and can check that it was sent. Your county receives it by regular mail and processes it like any other application—they're the ones who add you to the voter rolls.
So: we don't register you online. We give you the tools to complete your application and authorize mailing to your county, so your county can register you once they receive it.
How it works (in plain terms)
You’re in control at every step:
- You enter your information — name, address, date of birth, and the other details required on the Texas form. You also create an original electronic signature.
- You review the application — we show you exactly what will be on the form before you authorize mailing.
- You authorize mailing — when you're satisfied, you authorize Lob to print your application and send it by US mail to your county voter office on your behalf. ready2vote provides the infrastructure; you make the decision.
- Your county receives it — they process it the same way they process applications that arrive in the mail from other sources. They decide whether you’re added to the voter rolls. We don’t have a say in that.
No one here reviews or approves your application before it goes out. Our system checks that things like dates and addresses are in the right format, but you are responsible for making sure everything is correct. Once you authorize mailing, Lob processes it right away—there's no delay or human gatekeeping on our end.
Your privacy and your data
We take your information seriously. We use it only to create your application, transmit it to Lob when you authorize mailing, and give you a copy and tracking info. We don't sell your data. We don't share it with campaigns, parties, or data brokers. We use strong security practices to protect what you give us. You can read the full details in our Privacy Policy and get answers to common questions in our FAQ.
Free to use
ready2vote is free. We don't charge you to create your application or authorize mailing. Optional donations help cover postage when donor funding is available. The project is run as a civic effort. No one is paid based on how many applications go through the system.
